Justicia aurea - Yellow Jacobinia (Justicia aurea - Yellow Jacobinia)

All my Yellow Jacobinias are blooming now. They are very showy when in bloom for about 2 months. Photo taken Oct. 11, 2010.

Wow!

Meanie:

I have several...it's very easy to start from cuttings.

You want one?

Tetrarch:

Fall is when I look forward to my Yellow Jacobinia and Brazilian Cloak blooming. The Brazilian Red Cloak (Megaskepasma erythrochlamys) is more spectacular and blooms from fall through winter.

Don't tempt me Delonix! Ten years ago when I used to visit the states a couple of times a year I'd have been knocking on your door!

Meanie:

Anytime you come to San Diego to visit...you definitely can have as many cuttings from as many plants as you can take. No kidding! : > ) I have more than enough.

Last time I was in the states was about four years ago - Chicago in January! Don't recommend it, but thankfully I was only there on business and out again in 24hrs! It was sooo cold!

Meanie:

I don't travel any place where it's cold in winter...I can barely take temps below 55 degrees F/ 13 degrees C. these days. I stay here in San Diego...or travel to the tropics.

Here here!!

I went to look at a car that a customer was buying (turned out to be a poorly faked up heap priced at $200000us), and intended to stay a few days. Walked out of the airport, then walked straight back in and changed my return flight! Love Chicago in the summer.

Meanie:

That's funny! I heard from friends how bitterly cold it is in Chicago in winter! I would definitely love go to Chicago in summer. I've heard it's a beautiful, fun city.

Wasn't - cost me £250 to change my flight and cost the poor soul selling the car somewhere in the region of $50000 dollars from what I was told! He'd bought it in good faith as an investment when times were good - when times were hard and he needed to raise cash he found out that he'd been had over.

Love this, looks very similar to a ginger lily flower?

Dottydaisy2:

When you closer at the flowers they are very different from gingers flowers.
