Thanks goY friends... ~ the best part of this purchase is that I can enjoy these blossoms and next summer I will see them bloom again! I'm a victim of a peculiar mania.

This is lovely Lori, I have tried growing these in the garden but they never come up again.......

hmm...that's too bad, Lindak, the only thing that I can think of that might deter them from coming up is if they were planted with the growth point facing downward...?? the corms, when dry, are like shallow cups... the concave side is always down.

They grow for a season then don't seem to survive the winter Lori.

Do Hedgehogs like them?? lol....

Definately ......not.....LOL After our two frosts Lori the leaves are dying on a lot of plants.

Maybe you would have better luck if you lifted the corms and stored them over winter. dig them..let the dry off in the fresh air...brush of the soil and put them in a paper bag with woodchips or peat moss...store somewhere cool that gets no colder than 5 deg. C....and plant them up next spring.

Thanks for the info Lori. I shall get some more and have another go.

Good for you, Lindak. I lost my delphs this summer for some reason...so I'm going to be giving them another go.

Sometimes Lori gardening is like a patchwork quilt, you have to renew a square.
