Saxifraga 'Pink Form'

Is this the one you got at Malvern last year?

no, it was the Crystal Pink, but it died over winter :-(((

Oh no! That's sad. :-((((

I asked the man from Barracott and he told me they are a bit tricky with the cold weather, that's why I'm keeping this silver velvet in a pot as he said it was an unknown to it's hardiness. On the bright side I can always buy another Crystal Pink ;-)

Do you know what caused that to die off?

not sure B, could have been the freezing temps or wet??

It's frosty this morning. The temps have really dropped in the last week or so. I suppose it could be - but surely Saxifrages can handle a couple of degrees of frost? More likely the wet, I'd imagine. :-((

seems strange, the others survived no problem, I guess these just aren't as hardy??:-(

(out of interest, I've just been on the CGF site and crystal pink is recommended to be kept as a pot plant, guess that's where I went wrong :-( )

I thought i'd lost both of them last winter but up they popped in the spring - they're both in a shadier part of the garden and not one of the hotspots and i didn't expect to see them when i saw they had disappeared !

This one was well worth growing, Louise - very pretty. :-)

So, G, are you supposed to take 'Cystal Pink' in for the winter?

Infront of those two roses we looked at.

My eyes must have focussed on the roses and gone over the top of it, then - that's even more frustrating! Grrrrrr!!!!
