Its gorgeous Karen, remember playing in there when we were kids, before the road was built, used to be covered in bluebells, feel old now, lol.

I agree but not at this time of year, too many leaves too many much too many, sick of sweeping and brushing and blowing and clearing, would be nice if they shed their leaves in one fell swoop, then I could cope with them, lol. but then I would moan that the garden was bare and not much colour lol. never happy are we.

Kathy it still has bluebells and white wood anemones in the spring, down the side at the bottom of the footpath it is a mass of colour in April/May, depending on the weather of course. I never remember to go down and take my camera with me, I will try this spring and see if I can get a photo for the site.

That would be good Mum. I can't remember the spring flowers at all. I guess I wasn't looking hard enough....although I do remember that if you walked down the side of the wood there is a lovely little woodland clearing that I used to love to go in...like a little dingle dell in there! Can you still access that side with the new industrial buildings? Also, why not just leave the leaves until they are all fallen and do it in one go?

The plan was to leave all the leaves but I got sick of seeing them all and had to have a play with the blower. Very heavy with the bag on and sucking them so went to the blower mode and took off the bag. You can still get into the wood down that side, bit more overgrown now though, not as many people using the footpath these days. kids have better things to do than walk or so they believe. I don't walk down there on my own anymore, I got accosted by two huge dogs which were not under control (Rotweilers) and I mean big big dogs. With huge stud colours, I just stood still, frozen to the spot. The man had no control over them once they started to run, thought they were going to bite me but they just wanted to play with the dogs. It has happened twice and I am a bit scared that third time might be a different story. They haven't started the build on the plot at the side of us yet, not even put in foundations yet, suppose lack of money is holding things up.

Goodness, thought it would all be finished by a long time now. I know what you mean about big dogs. I haven't done the Barry Mill walk (the one I blogged) since May. Sick and tired of being scared by big dogs not on leads. Molly has become quite aggressive with other dogs as a result. Ignorant people...grrrrrrr....:((((((

Know the feeling I had a row with a man a few weeks ago in castle hill woods, he has what looks like a boxer staffy cross, its attacked Fudge twice, the last time pinned him to the floor and bit him on the neck, poor lad wouldn't hurt a fly, so when I saw this man I put Fudges lead on, he insisted his dog wouldn't hurt him, and even seemed to have forgot the two previous attacks, wouldn't put it on a lead it kept circling us quite frightening, he said I was a stupid woman who didn't understand dogs, I said I understand when a dog grabs another dog round the neck its not playing, and why should my dog have to put up with it, he stood there shouting at me till I told him in no uncertain terms to go away, I've since discovered its a rescue dog thats been used for fighting!!!!! Always worried now in case I bump into him, shame as its spoiled what used to be a lovely walk, Rob insists I take my phone now so I can ring him if I have any more run ins with him.
I remember the little clearing in the wood Karen:-)

Ah! imagine that, you remembering it too!
Blooming ignorant man...grrrrrrrrrrr If it ever happens again I would get the police involved Kath. Breach of the peace isn't it? Putting you in a state of fear and alarm, refusing to put his dog on a lead etc. Shocking behaviour. It's the same as using a weapon to scare someone surely?
