My young male-flowering Maradol Papaya doesn't seen to be bothered by the well below normal temps we've had here in San Diego for the last 4 days. Papaya plants are extremely sensitive to cold temps too. Photo taken Thanksgiving Day (Nov. 25, 2010).

Thanks for the Thanksgiving Day greeting! :>)
Yes, the whole state of CA has had very cold temps. last night much of the state was under frost or freeze warnings (except for the coast and parts of S. California). Even here in San Diego County most of the far inland areas had frost advisories (it's unheard of this time of year) My high/low yesterday was: 65F/18F, 41F/5C., the day before the high only made it up to: 57F/14C. (we're freezing!!!) :>(
Last year for Thanksgiving the high temp was: 80F/27C.

Male papaya plant??????? Does it means that it doesn't bear fruits?

Camillia:
Typically, the male plants don't produce fruit...however, I have several photos on GoY of male papaya plants producing fruit. I have 6 other papaya plants plants in my garden some are producing fruit and others are still small not sure if the plants are male, female or bi-sexual flowering yet.
