I never thought of that, Amy! I have kept the sloes and will add more gin and perhaps some other fruit for a second batch. Seems a shame to waste so much flavour :)

You can do That Gee , it will still be good , some people put the used Sloes in melted chocolate , it tastes nice but Oh those stones the chocolate is full of them and it would be to fiddly and take far to long to destone them .......

Looks delicious Gee, you will enjoy Christmas now! Lovely colour, my Dad always made this each year and they, Sanbaz, used to drive miles to collect them in some country lane somewhere in august/september time!!!

Hi Sanbaz....You can use any berry that will infuse. Last time I used the mushed up sloes as a base and added black berries and a few jostaberries. Cheap gin from Lidl and sugar. Shook it up every so often and slurped it after 3/12.....To my ancient palate it tasted OK. Gee's presentation is far superior to mine, which was in a brown plastic bottle!!!

You can also use raspberries and gin, lovely sticky liqueur.(spelling!)
