I think we have these same Iris all over here also.
A lot of the tropical trees are in full bloom here now also, like the Hong Kong Orchids trees, Coral trees, Powder Puffs, to name a few. :>)

We might have the same Iris in bloom but none of our trees our blooming at the moment. It's been Brrr.
I have collected wild Anemone as well but the wind ruined any chance of a picture.

I saw on the internet that Kerkyra, Greece Airport was 32ºF/0ºC this morning. Is this Airport close to where you live? That's very cold! Hopefully, it's not anywhere close to where you live!
We are expecting a lot of rain over the next week here (major flooding rains from northern California to Los Angeles)...as the storms are backed up from north of Somoa and to Japan across the whole Pacific Ocean. This is so unusual for a La Niña year and is more typical for an El Niño year. Well, the weather has been strange all year...I guess it's not going to change now. :>)

Delonix, I live about 40km North of Corfu Airport. It's been really cold this past week, single numbers but at least the sun has been shinning. Parts of Greece have snow!!! I haven't been walking about much this week that's for sure. Next week we will be going up to 16C, it's going to feel like summer compared to this!!! ;o)
Get your umbrella out and be careful!!!
One of my favourite movies is "The Day After Tomorrow" Always feel cold while watching it.

Alexandramou:
Is Kerkyra the same as Corfu? When I look up Corfu on a Greek map I never can find it.
It's been chilly here the last couple of days too. The high here where I live today was only 63ºF/17ºC. , however, the rain coming in is subtropical in origin so it will become warmer.
I'll have to find my umbrella...as I rarely use it. :>)
I have the DVD "The Day After Tomorrow"...it always makes me cold watching it too. lol! :>)

LOL, we should watch "The Day After Tomorrow" when we are having a heat wave. :o)))
Yes, Kerkyra is the same as Corfu. We are the northest island on the Ionian sea.
I was watching a documentary last night on Global Warming....how most scientist believe it's just another natural cycle of our planet.
Have fun with your subtropical rain (wink wink)

Alexandramou:
I've read papers and seen many documentaries on global warming. It a perfectly part of the earth's cycle. The huge concern with the current global warming is the rate at which it's warming...much, much faster than historic ice core sample have shown over hundreds of millions of year.
Parts of of Los Angeles to San Francisco has had up to 20in/508mm of rain since this past Friday and it's only Sunday. We've been spared the heavy rains so far in San Diego...however, the "Pineapple Express" (huge tropical moist plume of rain from Hawai'i) has set up very strongly now. California may be in store for up to 6in/152mm - 12 in/305mm more of rain by this coming Wednesday. This rain most likely would officially end our long drought.
