Arbour

Arbour

A place to have coffee or supper, watch the wildlife and enjoy the view. I drew a sketch, my husband built it himself; I love the dappled shade cast by the willow roof in the sunshine.

It's very nice. It must be great to sit there.

It's very nice, have you planted climbers to grow over?

Thanks all. Yes, Annella (I think this was taken about four years ago). Now we have Jasmine "clotted cream" growing up the left-hand side, and on the right a Clematis macropetala plus the Clem that looks like a passion flower.

how lovely to have a special place for a cup of coffee ~ now thats what i call a restful garden! i read your blog a little too quickly and thought you had clotted cream growing up the side!!! would have been a good idea i thought ~ scones on the roof, jam on the other side???
compliments to the architect and builder!

Thanks Sticki! Yes, I just wanted a place to sit and read my paper first thing without having to get a chair out (tsk, such an effort . . . what a lazy girl). But now it's my favourite place.
Next up - another sitting area at the other end of the garden. Have just been browsing Design Ideas on here: wonderful to have that at our fingertips.

i shall sheila ~ and im planning to have a table in my garden now!!! a designated place for coffee would be like going out to a nice cafe!!
the local GC runs a scheme whereby you buy a christmas tree from them but you get a voucher for the same amount to spend in february ~ so the tree is actually free ~ think i shall put it towards a table!!!

Sounds like an offer you can't refuse! You already have a chair to match, of course . . .

now you come to mention it! ~ no!
i do have chairs in a different part of the garden ~ 2 seats joined by a little sort of table
its the proper table ~ and of course the chairs that make the venue!

Benches are even better than chairs - you can have more company that way!
