Thankyou! I'm looking for something to put in the 'hole' at the lower right corner of the picture... thought maybe another sage... It has to be a plant that is salt tolerant...the winter streets are very heavily salted and sometimes in spring I have to go out and hose down my shrubs...especially my antique french rose. She does like a nice bath.

Lori, have you ever grown armeria maritima, mostly commonly called, sea thrift ? It's hardy to your zone and is very salt tolerant. It blooms off and on all summer too, if you deadhead it regularly, it's also very drought tolerant. Another plant worth looking into would be a native low growig shrub called arctostaphylos rubra, bearberry. It only gets about a foot tall, has pink blooms then red berries in the fall, it's also salt tolerant. You've probably already tried both of these, just thought I'd throw a few crazy thoughts your way... lol. Happy hunting.....~

Great suggestions, thanks Flcrazy. will give both of them a look. like the bearberry idea..as long as it's just a name... Where I grew up we had to be careful when we went to pick wild blueberries because Momma bruin usually took the kids out for treats...first the ants under the moss and lichens...then the blueberries for dessert!! lol
