Thanks! The original plant was purchased in 1994 or 1995. I've taken cutting for all those years...the Impatiens plants usually live for 3 - 5 years.

Thank you Delonix for that info. I shall be looking out for this one, and do as you do take cuttings, did nt realise they only had 3 to 5 years life, but I supose like all plants they die evenually out flower themselves.

These Impatiens usually are grown as annuals in most cooler/colder climates. They usually live only 3 - 5 years because the stems get slightly woody and the bugs attack them. The same thing happens to my Coleus also.

This is my favorite Impatiens! It's so easy to grow and blooms all year. It makes a good filler in the yard, in sun or shade.

We would have to bring them inside in the winter now, a few years ago they would have survived quite easily.

Would you by any chance still have this variegated Impatiens? I got a starting from a lady friend in NE Ohio and she got hers from an elderly lady that has passed away. My friend and I both lost ours. I've been hunting this particular variegated Impatiens for years and I can't seem to find it to purchase any place.

I am in a lot of garden groups on Facebook and I've posted this plant asking around, but no one has ever seen anything like it before.
