Bright and fierce in this late season, this maple held its leaves into the first weeks of snow! Such brilliance against the white of snow. Many mixes of colors even on each leaf with this species.

Thank you. They did. All these shots are acer ginnala, the flame maple. And much like a flame it was!

I can't wait to have one blazing away at my house. I'll have to be choosy. The big ones planted at the nursery didn't change from green at all. I'm hoping this pic gives me reference to pick out the leaf shape in the spring.
