Thank Linsuffolk. It was just what I wanted. The area only looks neat because it had just been created. It's not quite so neat now!

Know what you mean Digginfit, (lol) It has to get a 'little' untidy at times doesn't it?

White paint will make the whole area look very different !

Oh yes! The outside of the house looks dismal. And we are in a street that is almost all white villas. We ummed & ahhed for quite a long time but other villas the same design as ours that are white look so much better which is what made us decide to have ours painted.

Ah, that's makes sense. In my road, there is only one house with the brick walls painted, and the owner has constant maintenance challenges with flaky paint etc. Those with plain brick don't have the problems.

There is that yes. But we have got some good professionals coming in to do the work and they are going to do a lot of preparation first which should (we hope) help. We anticipate that it should be ok for about 5 years before it needs doing again. I may post some before and after pics when the time comes.

Some pics would be good... maybe a blog with not just before and after... but "during".... i.e. painting in progress .. Lol.

Hmm. I don't want to bore people too much with all my 'work in progress' pics! I think they probably had enough with my phase 1, 2, 3!! We'll see...

"work actually being done" is often more interesting than "before" and "after" :o)
