I'm going to try to semi-bonsai this conifer in this blue pot.

Thank you. I like the fact that I can't see this bit from the house. It's nice to go out and have a look at it sometimes!

Thanks for the tip. My patios go green overwinter, damp and no sun. I also have to give my pots a good scrub in Spring.

Yes, exactly. Mine too. I give the patio a good clean and get all the moss out with one of those long handled wire brush tools in the autumn/early winter (this year I had to wait until the snow had gone) and sometimes again in the spring. I don't think I will need to do that this year though as it's still looking really clean and neat.....:) I have used algae cleaner, you know, patio cleaning stuff with seaweed in it, and that keeps it clean of algae for ages....highly recommend it. All you do is water it on using your watering can and it kills all the green stuff off. It's made from seaweed so you smell the sea, but that's all, not harmful to anything.

I'm going to get the power hose out soon, my patio very slippy! I lent it to someone last year and when I next tried to use the hose, the hose kept coming off, very annoying!
18 Feb, 2011
Yup, that is annoying!

I looked at the algae cleaner last year but was worried about the plants at the top of the slope/edge of patio, good to know it is safe to use. My steps are a slippery mess at the mo. What's the name of the one you used Karen?
