Yes Princess Y, our trees produce big figs (I'll post a photo for you later). We have several trees, and all grew too high to reach. The fallen fruits make a big mess and attract dangerous-looking wasps. A bit of a nuisance.

I can remember when I was in South Africa all the figs falling and the same thing, I thought they smelt awful when the were splattered on the ground,

You are right, the smell is horrible!! And when you step on them, which I often do by accident, the fruits stick on your shoes. Very unpleasant.
