Glad you like it, Sharon!I agree it looks lovely in the Autumn! I looked at it yesterday, the trunk is turning white, which is a bonus!

they do look nice in autumn too these there's a big row in our town of them - and yes they're wonderful trees with all the leaves colours - :):):)

Both trees were grown from seed. My friend gave me them both as small one year old sapplings. Now one is about 8ft, the other is about 14ft, it's only been 5 years, since I planted them! I would like the heads to thicken out a bit, but one of them still wants to go skyward!I think the reason one has stayed smaller is it's in a wetter part of the garden and can get waterlogged in winter!

gosh they really go for it then !!! Brill it was from a seed

Only thing is Paul if we ever move, which I hope to, it's possible I'd have to leave them, but if I thought I could move them without damage I would!

Would be a hell of a task though - won't take long to start again though :):):)

Yes.. I know you're right.. but it's the sentiment attached to them! Never mind, I'll cross that bridge, when I get to the water!

My neighbour has two huge ones across the way from me, don't have a clue how old they are, but they're beautiful from no leaves and gorgeous trunks, to full glory from Spring through Autumn...

I might be a bit late...but speak to an Arborist, trees do get moved, people buy grown trees for instant planting; and they aren't that old...worth a try...

2 Oct, 2013

Yes..Wits End has just been built - I wouldn't be popular if I ask for it to be dismantled just yet! :-)

I sit in there and just watch things come and go in the garden. It's nice to sit there when it's raining!
