I've never been to England either Delonix....but I know a lot of people who live there...
My brother lived there for years and couldn't take the grayness anymore so he moved back to Greece.

Delonix - it was just out for the day as it was sunny and warm (which lasted all day Alexandra!)

The Californian winter sun is rather different to the UK winter sun - they're glad of whatever sun they can get here!!

All kidding aside, you are doing a great job. (wink)

The "great job" was done last summer when placing it outdoors. New growth seems to be important in order to get a bloom. As long as you can get that done and keep it cool over the winter the jobs a good'un!

Wow, I have got problems then. I can't put them out in the summer, way too much sun around my house. I can't keep them cool in the winter because I heat my house big time...

The optimum minimum morning or night low temps in winter to get Cymbidiums to bud well, is between: 45ºF/7.2ºC - 60ºF/15.6ºC. The daytime temps are best if kept above 65ºF/18ºC.

Meanie, not sure if you have fans in your conservatory for your orchids...the biggest problem with growing orchids indoors is lack of air circulation. They must have it to grow well.

I put my orchids outside when they're not blooming for the fresh air, however, many times they blow over. lol. :>)

I do have a roof fan which I put on for five to ten minutes when I get in from work during the winter. I try to keep it cool at night too.
I have many small heavy clay pots to stand the larger ones in outdoors.
