Great pic! I love avocados! I'm so lucky to live in avocado country here in San Diego County...which is the leading producer of avocados in the U.S. :>)

Thanks Delonix1. Can you get them any cheaper than in other parts, because they're so plentiful? My landlord has about 15 trees here on the property and he doles out to me :)
Yes Lori, pretty neat to get them off the tree like that :)

Yes, some places around sell avocados 5 or 6 for a dollar at different times of the year. The big named stores sell them for much more.
When I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, I used to have a 40ft/12m tall tree in the yard. It used to produce hundreds of avocados every other year (Avocado trees bear larger than normal crops every few years). I used to give bags away to my family, friends and neighbors.

There was a tree that size at my old place and yes it produced many avocados. I bet your friends and family members just loved you! People are gaga over avocados...especially free ones from your very own tree!

Yes, they were...free avocados are always a treat.
I wish I had a large avocado and mango tree (I used to have one until it was drowned out by plants) ...two of my favorite fruits.
