Nasturtium Growing Wild At The San Diego Zoo

Nasturtium Growing Wild At The San Diego Zoo (Nasturtium)

Nasturtium grows wild in many areas of San Diego and CA. during winter. They especially grow wild on the north sides of canyons. These plants will die out when we get into the very dry weather mid-spring. Photo taken March 26, 2011.

Not a great lover as they can be quite invasive, but they taste great!!

Meanie:

You haven't seen anything yet. Nasturtium takes over huge acreage in in canyons, empty fields and park areas in winter. It does die out come mid to late spring, though.
