Thanks - I do love Clematis. Are you planning to have any in your made-over garden?

Oh definitely, Spritz. We have a wire fence at the back end of the garden and I will have some clematis planted up there and likely will put some against the fencing as well. There are various species that flower at different times and some that are evergreen from what I've read on GoY so I will aim for a variety.
Other climbers as well...winter jasmine, ivy, rambling rose are a few I am considering. Cant wait to begin it all...a few more weeks yet....exercising my patience to the max!

If you want any advice, give me (or Karen) a yell. I'm sure we can help.

Thank you...I will remember your offer of advice, Spritz. It is such a bonus to belong here and be offered so much help and encouragement....and I'm certain to need it once I begin buying plants in larger quantities :)

Well - you only have to ask. :-)

I have just found a bloom on a clematis which I planted a couple of years ago. It certainly looks like one of the alpinas - I will take a photo and see what you think:)

OK. I can't promise an ID, but of course I'll take a look. :-) I've got several Clem. books, so we might be able to find out what it's called.

Ah - you've just answered my question. I thought you probably had some early-flowering Clems. :-)

Yes, I have four alpinas. Macropetala, Willy, Tage Lundell and Rosy Pagoda.

Thanks Spritz, so far there has only been one flower on this one. I was hoping for another one to open. - will take a pic if one does:)
