i am absolutely in awe of your wall, what lovely stones.
that must have taken you a fair while to build!
is it dry stone walling or did you use some form of cement?
nice rose btw, what is she?

We didn't build the wall, Resi - the talented builders who are the sons of our Spanish neighbours did. I'm trying to remember the name of the rose as the label got lost - TT helped me with the name Pierre de Riscard but she's not totally convinced so it remains a 'possible.'

Correction: 'Pierre de Ronsard.' Duur! ;o)

hi girls, oh ye its that word that everybody now seems to use in the uk, i have only just heard of it. doesnt the language develop at a pace when you're not there..
bit like plants in the spring and you dare to take a few days of away ;)

Over here it's : Doh!... from Homer Simpson, do you see the Simpsons, over there? (Pardon my ignorance...we don't watch telly. We have a satellite dish for the internet...but not for the television..lo))))l...I like that analogy Resi... I always found my garden had grown in my absence. It's like waiting for a pot to boil!...turn your back and it boils over!

Great wall. Almost like fort wall. Is it made with so-called "dry technique" of laying stones just one over another respecting their shape? They were masters who did that.

Yes, you're right Katerina. Very talented builders - sons of my neighbours. Both perfectionists with a tendency to 'over-engineer' their building work - but I can guarantee that my great-great-great grandchildren will see this wall still standing - and even their g-g-g-grandchildren!
