Pond Again

Love the refelctions, wonderful pond, er, mini lake!

Helenium, thats one ligularia on the bank, bottom left. Its definitely frosted, still limp and the new gunnera leaves are brown :-( Been expecting a frost, we just couldnt be that lucky not to get one before the end of May.

Dawnsaunt, what are the light green stalks at the water's edge, just down from the gunnera?

We had frost here too last night and my rodgersia's are looking terrible, but the ligularias look fine!

Wow, so beautiful. Can you swim in it DA....natural swimming pools are all the rage now you know! They are all right, it's not really a pond is it....it's a 'tarn'! lol :))

I don't think you would like to swim in it Karen have you seen the pic. Dawn took of a snake swimming in it ?

Oh yes! Well, you have to take the wildlife as well I guess....you're right, I don't fancy swimming with the snakes!

Helenium: I think you mean the one over to the right, if so, its just variegated iris - Iris pseudacorus 'Variegata' - has a yellow flower. The light stems to the left are day lilies.
So you had frost too .... my rodgersia had a hammering too, only just set the damn thing too.

Lol Karen, no dont fancy swimming in it and its not very deep, about 4 foot. We have a swimming pool anyway, lol.

Snake in there last weekend again. Spotted the water doing a V shape and there it was - about 3 feet long.

Wow! DA, the title of this photo sums up my garden today!! Just been out bailing out my borders after over an inch of rain fell overnight again!

Oh no Karen, poor you, we had rain but steady so it soaked in gradually. Hope your water has permeated a little by now. We are accustomed to flooding, horrible.
