I would tell you that I climbed up the scaffolding but nope I did not - too scared of heights - friend Philip climbed up and took some pictures for me this is the best view of the ones he took. Brilliant to see from a height, pleased he isn't scared of heights cos I should not have had these pictures otherwise.

Karen chimney stacks are cracked and need repointing, before they fall down. lol.
Pleased you like Motinot - love your new avitar - loved your old one isn't he growing up so fast though.
Michaella - that was my comment when Phil came down with my camera, he did a good job taking pictures for me.

Rose, It was a field before I started on it just over 20 years ago, the majority has been done in the last few years, I hate cutting grass so little by little I have dug out bits as I have gone along, no plan only in my head, I look and see something in my minds eye and then have a go at it. Nothing on paper. There are some before and after photos somewhere on my photo pages. lol. cannot believe how it has changed myself. Hard work but well worth it. I love my gardening. Even more so this morning as it rained for the first time last night in weeks and weeks in fact two months since we had any rain to call anything.

Thanks Lulu, glad you like it.

We had the rain too. We are on sandy soil so it drains really quickly so hubbies main job now is the watering although i have to remind him to water the roots and not the leaves.(bless him). I think it is the best way to start a garden from scratch and more fun as you are never sure how it will end up.I used to keep widening the borders and reducing the lawn when hubby wasnt around and then try and look innocent when questioned. He loves his lawn but i would much sooner have plants.

Oh I can do exactly as I like in my garden as OH is not into gardening at all. Only down side of him not being interested is that I have all the heavy work to do myself - he will do it if I ask, but he is so so busy with work that I just get on and do it, I would have to wait for ages and ages for him to get to my garden work. lol. Probably the best way also as he would never do it like I want it done, they never do. Think he isn't into it because it is so time consuming. He works as a Groundsman (playing fields, pitches, football and cricket and bowls) so he cuts grass and rolls it for a living and think he would be bored out of his brains if he had to cut my grass etc. too many bends and twists and he would get himself in such a tangle if he had to cut around a border with flowers in it. lol. He does work very hard at his job and has a paying hobby at home also during the summer months so is a very busy man. I enjoy my gardening, would be lost now the kids have grown up and left home if I did not have that to look after. No more rain today, we had a cricket match (I do teas for the players) so not done any gardening today. The ground looks so much better for the good soak we had last evening though. Just seen the long range forecast on Countryfile no rain until Thursday according to their weather man.

My hubby can't do alot now because of physical problems so I too have the heavy work to do ,but if i'm honest I think I prefer it and apert from the lawns can have a free hand.
