Think I like this one the best, mainly because it has got the berberis in the picture which I love so much.

What a shame really that the flowers are not out yet, it would be really good to have one taken with a lot of colour in that big border. You never know if it takes the workmen as long as it has taken them to get started on the chimney stacks then we might have another opportunity to take some more pictures. lol.

For me, a garden like this is but a distant dream. Nonetheless, I'm enjoying looking at your pics. It's beautiful.

Nothing wrong with dreaming Sgbabe, that's what I do every winter!

lovely. I can see where your veg. garden is now. It's where the greenhouse was 30 years ago! Later in the year you could get Sammie to clamber up on to the roof for us!

Beautiful garden, love berberis too, mine got so big, I've cut it down to ground level, it is growing back slowly.

thanks sgbabe glad you like, thank you Helenium you are right we can all dream - my dream is for a cottage with a stream and of course a blank canvas so I can garden to my hearts content. lol.
think Sam might give that one a miss Karen, she is like her mum and dad (no like heights)
Thanks Michaella, think it is the colours that you can get with berberis that do it for me it certainly isn't the thorns. lol. this one has pink splashes in it on all the new growth after a while, then it turns to its really rich deep reddish bronze colour

What a lovely garden you have Olive .As much as I love our garden ,sometimes I long for a flatter garden and not quite so many trees ( although I do love them) but not the many pigeons that roost in them.I love the way you have set it all out .You are definitely one of my favourites.

Lovely garden and so neat and tidy! I love my Berberis too!

Rose thank you - think the only reason I would like a little incline is because this is so flat and I have had so much hard work to make it look like it has got some height, the trees can be a pain here, the pidgeons make such a mess, you can park your car clean at night and then the next morning, you cannot see through the windscreen. lol. I have given up on cleaning it, the windscreen gets washed and the car has to look scruffy. Good job I am not bothered like some are on bright shiney cars.

Thanks again Lulu, I know berberis can grow to be a very big bush but I cut this back every year to keep it small as it is in front of my kitchen window and I would not be able to see up the garden if I did not trim it down.

It's a cracking shrub, but I do hate the thorns. How are you doing for rain Mum? We've had over an inch since midnight. I've just been out bailing out the borders!

We got quite a lot overnight, but it has soaked in well, none standing anywhere, we have sunshine and clouds now, very warm. More rain forecast Monday and Wednesday for us. Fingers are crossed, it has made the garden look all spruced up one or two aquilegias flopped over but have been out and stuck some canes in the ground to help them back up again. All good here. Hope you get some sunshine today. We are off to cricket later, teas etc. to do, first Sunday match today. Not looking forward to this one, it gets very tiring doing two on the trot, but if the sun is shining we shall get to see some cricket after tea.

I am pleased that i am not the only one with pigeons. We get a respite with them during nesting time as the crows always come here to nest every year and clear the pigeons off.I sympathise with you. We had to have roofs put over the sitting areas .We had a sm all summerhouse in the front garden but it is under trees .There isnt anywhere to have a building except under trees because the garden is on a hill.A few years ago my friend brought her new partner to meet us and we sat on the decking just outside the summerhouse as it was not big enough for all of us. We wanted to create a good impression as my friend said he was very particular ( everything in its place e.t.c.) .There i am sat on the far outer part of the s. house when splat...I am totally covered from head to foot and had to get washed and changed. Most people would have seen the funny side but he was not amused .We didnt see him again for at least 2 years when my friend brought him back and now we are all firm friends. I wonder what he would have done if it had happened to him!
