Beautiful Spritz

Thank you both. Pity Jennyfer hasn't seen it - we were talking about Erigeron karviskianus, and I wanted her to see them 'in situ'.
24 May, 2011
Yes, I have seen it now!! I'm sorry, I didn't come on much yesterday, so only just checking now :P I see what you mean about softening the edges; it looks really pretty there :) We have some sandstone retaining walls in our garden, which is where i'd been thinking of putting it, but worried they might be a bit too shaded, as the house is on the other side of the path across from them... but hopefully I'll have enough growing to try it out :) Your garden is so beautiful and full of life... I love the daisies you have throughout it, and whats that pinky-purple thing frothing down in the middle? Thankyou for the picture, its really helped :))

Agree stunning as always.

Beautiful border, great use of plants & colour. Now added to my favs :)
24 May, 2011
Thanks, all. :-)) That's a lovely compliment, Iagojames.
Jennyfer, they do like sun, but as long as they're not too shaded, they should be OK. That pink plant is Phuopsis stylosa.
I like a few Ox-eye daisies around, but I weed them out if they seed too much. At least the seedlings are recognisable!

Awesome :) I'll give it ago once they're big enough, and keep my figers crossed :) Ox-eye daisies are something else I have seeds waiting for, only I hadn't realised they were so border friendly...was just going to stick them somewhere in one of the wilder bits in the hope that some insects would love them (but I might pop a few in elsewhere now;)

great garden, lovely mix of flowers

Thanks again, Taz!
Jennyfer, I've posted the other photo now - so you can see the Erigerons again. You'll be tired of seeing them soon! ;-D

Beautiful border......
25 May, 2011
Haha, they're pretty things, so I'm sure that'll never happen =P I'll go have a nosey now.
26 May, 2011
This is wonderful Spritz :-)
Your Phuopsis stylosa (what a mouthful!) look interesting, don't know this one. I'll definitely check it out.
26 May, 2011
Thank you, Columbine - be aware that the Phuopsis is a bit of a thug, and it takes for ever to pull the dead strands out in the spring. Apart from that, it is a pretty plant, and very hardy. It also flowers twice.
26 May, 2011
That's what I call a border:-)
26 May, 2011
I do too...want to come and help me weed it? LOL. Seriously, thanks, Ba. :-)
26 May, 2011
I don't mind a bit of a thug, unless it's Mint-like ;-> Might be good for my front garden, I like plants that can handle themselves in there as I don't water or maintain it to much.
27 May, 2011
No, not like mint. It's certainly a strong grower, though! I walk on some of it that's seeded into the cobbles, and back it comes. :-/
27 May, 2011
Oh well, think I'll take the plunge ;-) My idea for the front garden these days is 'survival of the fittest' so it should work...
28 May, 2011
Classic English Garden B. Wonderful!
28 May, 2011
@spritzhenry,your welcome :)
@Columbine ,LOL Like the comment "survival of the fittest sounds like our garden :)
28 May, 2011
Thank you, Karen. :-)
Good luck with it, Columbine!
28 May, 2011
Iagojames it's because I don't enjoy the work at the front, or watering there. I'm kinder to my back garden :-)
Thanks spritzhenry, already spotted a place for the seeds :-)
29 May, 2011
That's good. :-)
29 May, 2011
lovely border
31 May, 2011
Thanks...:-)))

Thank you, Homebird. Since I took this, there are even more flowers out. :-))

Barbara that is beautiful, I love the way ox-eye daisies are sprinkled like jewels through the border. Phuopsis stylosa is a favourite of mine (sadly lost over the winter and a replacement not yet found!), a bit of a 'Marmite' plant - you either love or hate the pungent scent - personally I love it. :-))

You LOST it!!!! I'm amazed - I thought they were such toughies! I like the look of them, don't appreciate the 'scent', I admit. I saw seeds for sale on e-Bay this afternoon, if that's any help.
