The Erigeron karvinskianus soften the edges of the path.

A great plant Barbara, I love the way it's pink and white at the same time. First saw this at Great Dixter where it grew in the step edges.

Delightful

Thanks, Denise.

You're right, Muddy- I'd forgotten that. It's also everywhere at Hestercombe Gardens here in Somerset. I love it, and encourage it! :-)

25 May, 2011

I love it too we grow it through the lavender......

25 May, 2011

Now that sounds like a good combination Dottydaisy2 - any chance of a photo? :-)

25 May, 2011

Oooh, I didn't think it was possible, but I think I love this one even more than the last! It looks like it all just wants to floww down over the path... The Erigeron is slightly taller than I imagined, but still lovely :)

26 May, 2011

I'm not posting any more Erigeron photos, lol. Mind you, as it's everywhere in my garden, it might just 'happen' to get into photos! ;-)

26 May, 2011

I will be going for my yearly visit to Great Dixter soon do hope they have some Erigon, they sell lovely plants and I come back with all sorts.

26 May, 2011

Post as many as you like it looks lovely. I managed to buy some Gladiolus Byzantinus after seeing your photos last year, they make nice combo with the Erigeron

26 May, 2011

This is delightful, very nice flow to it all :-)

26 May, 2011

Thank you, Columbine.

Anne - that's good. Did they flower all right?

Denise - how lovely to be able to get to Great Dixter - I do miss my trips there.

26 May, 2011

Oh I love this Spritz:-)

26 May, 2011

They are in flower at the minute Spritz, not as impressive as yours yet but hopefully will be better next year. I love the colour of them.

26 May, 2011

Thanks for all the ones you have posted, far more than I ever expected :P

26 May, 2011

You're very welcome, Jennyfer. :-))

26 May, 2011

:)

26 May, 2011

I will post some photos when I go Spritz

26 May, 2011

Muddy I will take a pic when the winds stop gusting.......

26 May, 2011

Thanks, Denise. :-) I know I'm always telling you I miss the Kent & Sussex gardens - but it's true!

Dd - that'll be interesting.

26 May, 2011

That is a lovely erigeron. I have still to get some, but I'm 'simplifying' at the moment. My edging plant of choice at the moment is Ajuga. Not as pretty as Erigeron though, and if I remember rightly Erigeron is also evergreen...is that right B?

28 May, 2011

Nope - sorry, Karen. :-(( It's a funny one - it has a lot of dead stuff, which I have to cut back every spring. Hard to explain. I wouldn't call it entirely herbaceous, though.

28 May, 2011

Ah, yes, I know what you mean! Thanks!

29 May, 2011

Glad you do - I'm not at all sure what I mean! ;-/

29 May, 2011

Well, I have grown Erigeron in the past B, and I remember the way it is. A bit like the lovely hardy Osteospermum that Annie sent me.

29 May, 2011

Errr...not really, as my Osteos do stay green. Oh well - I'll observe them more carefully in the winter.

29 May, 2011

No, don't worry B! I shall stick with my Ajuga for now, it's doing a good job. I am in a 'sinplifying' frame of mind at the moment. Everything is getting a bit rampant down at the low level, while I am still waiting for the roses and shrubs to grow up and hide the fence. The trees are getting tall, so I have tall height, no middle and far far too much bottom......lol!

29 May, 2011

I couldn't possibly comment, Karen! LOL.

30 May, 2011

No, best not to! :))

30 May, 2011

;-D

30 May, 2011

Looking good as usual :o)

31 May, 2011

:-))

31 May, 2011

Super bed there Spritz! Those gladis growing through are great. In fact, they all go together really well. :-)

31 May, 2011

The rose in the middle looks lovely with them, but everything has been bashed and bruised with 'that' wind, and I've had to start cutting some of them back already. :-(

31 May, 2011

think i will have to look this one up ............ its gawjuss

31 May, 2011

It's not hard to find, Cristina - just remember it likes sun. :-))

1 Jun, 2011

well i have plenty of sunny spots .............;0)))

1 Jun, 2011

You're lucky, then. :-)

1 Jun, 2011

This really is a lovely soft meandering border with a river of Erigeron at its feet. First saw this plant at Burford House, then a very kind lady on goy sent me a plug, and now I have it making its home at the base of my steps.

5 Jun, 2011

luky you stroller .................................

6 Jun, 2011

looking great Spritz..:-)

7 Jun, 2011

Thanks, Sandra - it did, but now I've had to cut back most of the byzantine gladioli - the wind battered them to a premature finish. (sob, sob!)

7 Jun, 2011

same with lots of my geraniums..here today blown away tomorrow...

7 Jun, 2011

Why are we getting all this wind? There must be a metereologist answer? It just goes on and on every day. :-((

7 Jun, 2011

its been here for weeks...at least we had a little rain with it today....

7 Jun, 2011

Oh no! Sorry to hear about your gladioli Spritz! They looked gorgeous.

8 Jun, 2011

I know - I'll have to cut the rest off tomorrow morning, after yet more wind and battering today. (sob, sob.)

8 Jun, 2011

If this was the view from my front door, I think I would be standing on the doorway all day! It's wonderful.

20 Sep, 2011

I'm glad this pic has come up again Spritz, the Erigeron you sent me is doing really well and still full of flower. Thank you :o))

20 Sep, 2011

Thanks, Dwyllis. :) Pity you're sooooo far away, or you could come to see it for yourself!

Annella, I'm really pleased to hear that. :-)

20 Sep, 2011

This is really lovely and has inspired me! Can I ask, what is the purple globe-like flower beneath the cali poppy and above the erigeron? Thanks.
