It is in full sun,Sticki..and I am eagerly awaiting the rest of them,in the same border..another white,,and blue ones,I hope, which I did last year, but only had the foliage..exciting,so can't wait :o)

Stunning !

Thank you Amy..I can see it from my window,so that's even better..:o)..along with some blue ones (hopefully),I planted some Cerise Lychnis as well,so waiting to see what it looks like..maybe a bit over the top,but it will be colourful :o)..I will have to wait and see,and have the spade ready,if it does look too much.Lol.

Great closeup, nice to be able to see it from your window too, look forward to a picture when the blue on and Lychnis is blooming! this Russels camera?

Thanks Annella,it has really done me proud this year..it was in a pot last year,so obviously prefers to be in the border..:o)

Thanks Carole, and it still has lots of buds still to open at the top...and no,to your question...I took it myself, with my old hand me down camera...oh ye of little faith ! ..Lol.

1 Jun, 2011

lol lots of faith in you Sandra just thought Russel may like to be known as a top class Botanical photographer ;0))

1 Jun, 2011

He would,Carole..but only if it suits me,and if I can't see the subject very well.! Lol..When we went on holiday,we had to agree on who photographed what..as we have ended up with the same shots, lots of times..even harder when I download them all,(( or upload, can't remember which is the correct term)),and having to sort out which is the better photo.!.His usually are,to be honest ! :o)

I had the same problem with Simon on the day out at Muncaster Casdtle when we were away, we were both taking the same shots, then he uploaded his onto my site so when I came to write the blog I wasnt sure whose pictures I was showing lol

It does make it harder, doesn't it,Carole.?...going backwards and forwards to find the best pic..I have a feeling my camera isn't as it should be,since we came home..not happy with some pics at all,and have to delete a lot....I keep trying in different times of the day,in different light situations..so don't know if its on its way out..I haven't managed to get a decent pic of my clematis'Elsa Spath',a purple one..at all this year, and it has faded now..so too late....think I need to start dropping hints..for birthday in October.....give Russell time to save up .Lol.

Beautiful....

6 Jun, 2011

Thanks Lindak..I will be sorry when it has finished flowering, but there are other smaller ones coming..:o)

The slugs and snails tend to go for these as they begin to sprout from the ground. One of my favourite plants but we only have a small garden now on top of a hill so it gets windy.

7 Jun, 2011

I haven't had any problems with the slugs and snails,Lindak..although I expected it,as it's their first year in the ground....I dig an organic product in at planting time, which is designed for those little nasties..it has tiny little fibres in it from Sheep wool, which stick to them, and dries them up! sounds divine, doesn't it ? ..it has worked..plus the very dry weather has,too..:o)

7 Jun, 2011

That sounds good to me Bloomer. I haven't noticed much damage except for a few holes appearing in the hosta leaves but we have hedgehogs here.

8 Jun, 2011

Lucky you.Lindak..I love Hedgehogs..:o)

8 Jun, 2011

I watched at ten o'clock last night and a large one went all the way round my little borders searching for food then travelled across the lawn for his mealworms and a drink.

9 Jun, 2011

How lovely,Lindak...It would sleep well,after a good supper :o)

9 Jun, 2011

I've woken up early as well and seen them in the dawn at 5 ready to go to bed and sleep the day away Bloomer

9 Jun, 2011

I could have joined you this morning,Lindak,as I was up at that time..:o)

9 Jun, 2011

I always seem to wake early, Bloomer. I had a smallholding for eleven years and used to be milking at six. I suppose it's habit. LOL
