Thanks, Gee. Thought I'd lost the physocarpus this winter and did lose three quarters of it. I'll try a few cuttings to replace it.

It's a combination I thought I had lost this winter - more than three quarters of the physocarpus was dead as a dodo, just one little branch at the base sprouted. I'll have to try cuttings and start it again.
