I had three, plus one Oleander but lost all but the Oleander due to our bad winter last year, but it gives me another excuse to go plant foraging when I next visit my friend in Sardinia! Thanks goes to Plantoholic for naming it for me.

May be best as a pot grown specimen from now on then.......

They were all grown as container plants and taken inside a greenhouse to over winter along with all my geranium cuttings and my standard fushia. They were fine the winter before but this year was obviously too harse.

Avid gardener:
This plant is Tecomaria compensis - Cape Honeysuckle. It's is very widely grown here in California, to more than 20ft/7m tall.

Thank you Delonix1 I too have seen it growing quite large in Sardinia, I love the flowers that it produces, so thought I would take a cutting! Managed to keep it for three years in a container and grew it like a bush by cutting it back.

You're welcome.
Some of the newer varieties of Cape Honeysuckle have yellow, gold, and pink flowers.
