Oh brilliant ,, my son was thinking of keeping some I'm not sure if he did anything else about it , My hubby is paranoid about them , whenever we go anywhere near a hive he always gets stung !! perhaps they know he has a fear .. he was stung all over by wasps that had a nest in our compost heap ,he came in covered in them and was stung dozens of times ... I can understand his fear when that happens ..

O dear, wasps are just bad news they raided one of our hives last year and killed loads of the bees. As for hubby bees only attack if they feel threatend, although some scents can be to blame, strong aftershaves, alcohol, the worst thing to do is eat a ripe banana as it releases the same pheromone that a bee releases when it stings you and encourages other bees to attack.

If you look at my photos Amy there are a couple of pictures of me handling bees from my top bar hive and they are very calm and happy bees.
