Lupins still giving a splash of colour

Mine are going over Dawn they haven't lasted , if we cut them down we might be lucky enough to have a second flush later in the year !

I wont grow them anymore as they always got jumbo greenfly, yours look delightful.

What a shame Amy, I've cut mine down and more buds to come.
Dotty, damn greenfly, luckily none here.

Mine either got hit when growing through the surface by slugs and snails or JUMBO GREENFLY........Yours look great Dawn.

For some reason I can't grow them in this garden, will keep trying, but no luck so far....

Hi Cris, I cut the dead heads off mine a couple of weeks ago and some are in bud again.
Crissue, mine are set in solid clay, thought they were quite easy to grow, one day you might get some going.

That's amazing Dawnsaunt...Clay...This is the first garden I've had no luck with them...its slightly sandy soil, but with lots of enrichment added to give it a boost... This is our third year here, and I would say the best the soil has been...I'll just keep trying different spots till I find somewhere they like...

They dont lime Cris but with sandy soil I wouldnt think this would be the problem. Good luck :0
