This is one of a pair they have been visiting for about three years now and are very tame, as soon as they see me in the garden they fly to me, Lovey I think is on the nest again. I had one of their young a week back and it showed no fear got to coming upto me, then one of the parents came down and attacked it, I havent seen it since,.

Carole I have noticed that the parents see the young ones off when they look to be to at home , I think it's because they want them to go away to find their own space eventually leaving themselves with you .......

I agree with you Amy that was what I thought, but felt so sad for the little one it had no fear of me but I think it has been banished from our garden now ;0(

I know what you mean Carole, everytime I go outside a young female blackbird comes up to me asking for food I always go to get it some, it comes almost into my hand but an elder male Blackbird is usually ready to frighten it off ... :o(

Its such a shame but like you say its nature, I was upset yesterday as the cat aross the road caught one of the baby Great Tits from the front feeder and made off home with it dangling from its mouth, I know its nature but still so upsetting to see;0(

The babies are so tame aren't they had a baby robin following me on the allotments, kept digging him worms up and he practically took them out my hand, then the cheeky monkey thought he'd have a few of my raspberries for afters :-)

How lucky are you to have them coming so close! Lovely birds, always look vulnerable somehow. Our pair fly away as soon as I open the door. : o ((
