Red dahlias beginning to flower.

I love Dahlias! Can't wait until mine are flowering. I think it'll be another month yet. Did you grow yours from seed?

I know what you mean. Did you put them in a green house? I've bought a few tubers which I will dig up again but mostly I grow them as annuals from seed, as I have nowhere suitable to overwinter them. I've also got little earwigs (or something) in the garden that apparently feast on Dahlia tubers.

I know what you mean. I just ordered new seeds for perennial plants for next year and remembered I won't have anyone to water them, when I'm away for two weeks in August. They are a bit more tricky to water aren't they?
