Plumeria 'Samoan Fluff' - Samoan Fluff Plumeria

These are pretty. Would be perfumed, and used in a Lei?
When we were visiting Oha'u, our room service lady, who we made friends with, brought flowers one day, for our room, that looked very much like your pic. They had the most wonderful, heavenly, perfume. When I asked what they were, she told me they were Hawaiin (Gardenia?) and that she had picked them near the sports Stadium on her way into work, for us. She did this every day of our holiday almost, and I think we had the best smelling room in the hotel. Lol.

Yes, these flowers are widely used in Hawai'i to make leis. Most flowers have a wonderful fragrance.

You could smell the fragrance of the flowers in the air, as you walked along the streets. It was heavenly. :o)

I love sweet-smelling flowers like: Plumeria, Arabian Jasmine or Pikake (Jasminum sambac), Galan de noche (Brunfelsia nitida), Huele de noche (Cestrum nocturnum), Tuberose (Polianthes tuberosa) and there's so many more that are commonly grown here.

Ahhhh! I think they may have been Pikake flowers.
I think 'Fanny' (as she told us to call her, and I dare not try to say or spell her full name to you. lol) might have called them 'Hawaiin Jasmine?' and not 'Gardenia'. :o)
Tuberose I tried to grow, but lost them all. The bulbs are quite expensive to buy, so I was sad they died on me.:o(

Jasminum sambac - Arabian Jasmine or Pikake is very cheap and very widely available for sale here.

I had a huge Pikake when I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area. It bloomed so well every year...until I dug it up to move it into the back yard...then it died very quickly! :>(

Tuberose is an evergreen plant here in San Diego. It's tropical origin makes it only suitable for growing in temperate climates in summer. The bulbs have to be lifted and stored in colder climates.

That's why I lost mine then. I didn't lift them. :o(

Yes, that's most likely the reason. They are very tropical and the bulbs will rot and die in cold wet soil.

That's what I get for not doing the research on them. :o)

I love GoY. I only found the site when I asked a question regarding my Wisteria plant.
I asked 'Jeeves', the question, and GoY appeared. I joined up immediately, with the help of my Daughter, as I wasn't 'computer friendly' at the time.
I'm still not that good with a computer, but have learnt the basics being here on GoY.
Everyone is so friendly, it's like we've all known each other most of our lives, and if someone doesn't appear for a while, you actually miss them. :o)

Yes, GoY is very much like a family. The people are so much friendlier, nicer, encouraging and welcoming than other garden websites.

I know this first hand, I have experienced some very nasty people and comments on these other garden websites.

I've not tried anywhere else, so would not know, but as you say, the friends on here were so welcoming, I can't imagine being anywhere else.
My younger Daughter has just had surgery, and the get well wishes she has recieved on here were remarkable, even the comments of trying to help her while she was waiting for her date of admittance.

That's such a great experience!

My Daughter has done very well. She only needed 2weeks off sick, and went back to University well in time for her exams.
She is now doing her course on 'placement' for the next few weeks, but as long as she is sensible she'll be ok. :o)
