I nearly bought one to have as an annual climber but someone gave me a Cup & Saucer Vine instead! I do miss not seeing much Bougainvillea in the UK.

It really does look like how they grow here in San Diego. They can become monsters, growing up palm trees to a height of 80ft/25m or more.
