Our Flowering Ribes...
Rk this is the shrub I mentioned to you...wouldn't know it peeled, if we didn't prune it into a standardised shrub...these shrubs grow as you watch...so fast...

Is this like a spider - shreads for new growth ??

I never knew they peeled as they grew, it really is kind of neat looking. It does kind of remind me of Lagerstroemia or Heptacodium.

The Ribes was with us at our other house, and had loads of space to grow...we realised very quickly when we moved that it would outgrow us so regularly prune it, and took off everything under...I love it...and when it flowers earlier in the year, it's full of blooms...The only downside, is that it sends runners up everywhere nearby...good if you wanted to start new plants...and the peeling bark is such a bonus...
This little bed is my 'bits and pieces' spot...I've got liitle transplanted Cowslips coming along...and three self seeded Hellebores, that will stay at the front...
A good old fashioned plant Brompton Stock, I've just sown seeds, and will transplant them when grown, for next year, they smell lovely... and a lambs tail, that will find a new home eventually... :))
