Yesterday I watched this beautiful damselfly, a male Ebony Jewelwing flitting around my Koi pond. Here he poses on a Brugmansia leaf.

You do seem to get some brilliant "poses" for your pictures. Gr8 photo :-)

I watched dragonflies depositing eggs in my pond..quite an interesting sight...they are so quick that I couldn't get a proper shot of their interesting dance across the miniscus. they also eat emerging mosquitoes and even with the fish to help they seemed able to take their share...damsels are so much smaller and more delicate.. Do they have the same life cycle? The ones I see are electric blue...and their wings are horizontal, not vertical.
