SOS - save old stockings!

SOS - save old stockings!

I read this tip years ago, but this is the first time I've tried it. Pull the stocking over the stack of pots, starting at the bottom, cut the toe off and hang - pots can be pulled from the bottom and dropped in again at the top. It oculd also be used to keep pots tidy on shelves. I suppose that some kind of stretchy netting could be used for very large pots.

Good idea Fran, I use tights as garden ties.

*s* I had to put a clip on the smallest pots - I ran out of toes and had to use the upper part of the stocking, which was a bit too wide.

Perhaps the stocking doesn't have to go all the way up the height of stacked pots - I got them out of the bottom easily enough, but sometimes two at once, and it was a bit of a prob to get them back in at the top (maybe beacuse they were above head-height). so long as the bottom half is supported, the rest should stand securely.

That's a great tip! An easy way to keep all pots of the same size together! :-))

nods, I hadn't realised how many of what sizes I had until i did this to them - I'd tried to sort them before, but they kept getting moved so I could get at ones behind them and ended up a total mess.

Maybe I only need to put out a few at a time, and leave the rest [still stockinged] in the shed - they're a bit too close to the work top to not get in the way.

I tend to stack things in at least two parts - then, when I've used the first and have to get out the second, I know it's time to get some more to be the new backup
