Usually I tend to go for a big contrast, and I thought this wouldn't work, but it looks great...like the clematis is actually the flower of the tree! Very pleased with it now. I've learned that it doesn't always have to be a big contrast, sometimes a partnering colour is better...more harmonising and soothing.

Lovely combination Karen. I planted another clematis yesterday..... Multi Blue, after seeing a lovely double blue at Hyde Hall the other day. It's a bit of a rescue buy, as it was reduced.....but fingers crossed.

Multi Blue is lovely isn't it...I used to have that one in my old garden, but then I saw Crystal Fountain and decided I liked that better, so I have that here...similar but with a greener centre.
