Blooming well, and blooming tall too - nearly one and a half metres tall!

I even tolerate its variegated foliage Lulu - I like it that much! Slugs leave it alone too.
The Salvia is looking great - about a metre tall now and lots of flower bearing stems coming along too.

Wow! That's tall!
I've just spotted a rosebay willow herb at the back of my garden - it must be around 6 feet!

very nice Meanie, must make a nice statement being that tall..

That's not what you want to thrive in your garden Sticki!
SL - it's making quite a statement as it continues to clump up!
19 Jul, 2011
That's very nice :))))

No! It wasn't planned! Escapee from the woods I think!

Thanks Paul!

They're b.well everywhere around here Sticki!
19 Jul, 2011
Oh I thought it was only here! But it could be worse - they are at least easy to pull out.
You got sandy soil too?
19 Jul, 2011
Got it all around here Sticki thanks to the ice flow of the whatever period - my garden is clay (near solid clay at that), but at the other end of the close (about 600 metres) they're on gravel!!!
19 Jul, 2011
I think the ice flow has arrived here! It's cold enough!

Not very nice at all is it!

A beauty with gorgeous markings.

Thanks 6d!
I hate variegated foliage Lulu. This one is forgiven as is my Iris japonica........

A bit of variegation in the weather wouldn't hurt!!
19 Jul, 2011
Too much in the weather me thinks - just plain hot and sticky would do!
19 Jul, 2011
And all I want is blue sky - is that too much to ask?
20 Jul, 2011
It would make a nice change!
20 Jul, 2011
Its good for photos too - double benefit!
20 Jul, 2011
I must admit that I find it a pain in the butt sometimes for photos!!
20 Jul, 2011
I know the glare is a problem but it also has an attraction of it's own.
20 Jul, 2011
It can do......
My camera struggles with certain reds in full sun though.
20 Jul, 2011
I expect mine does too and it's not great on blue/purple colours either eg: bluebells are very hard to get right and for that matter white isn't that easy either!
20 Jul, 2011
Mine is strange - take two visually identical reds and one is spot on yet the other is wrong.
20 Jul, 2011
How does that happen then? Think I would be tempted to send a copy to the camera manufacturer.
20 Jul, 2011
Ha ha the markings inside the flower derrrrrrr lol
20 Jul, 2011
It's normal Sticki - something to do with the frequency that colours work at.....
I love the markings 6d - this is what I have coming along for next year........

20 Jul, 2011
Lol I bet you can't like a little boy with a new toy.
20 Jul, 2011
Very much!
20 Jul, 2011
Well you are a machanic what else would we expect from you lol.
20 Jul, 2011
I get the variation in reds to Meanie. I also have about 10 different alstroes in the garden, about 5 new this year. The other five survived both last two winters in the ground!!
21 Jul, 2011
This came through the last winter with flying colours too!
21 Jul, 2011
That is gorgeous Meanie .. I have to say I am with you in not liking varigated ,they always look half dead to me neither one thing or the other !
22 Jul, 2011
Thank god it's not just me!!
This one is clearly forgiven though!
