Foxtail Palms are commonly planted in San Diego because they're so extremely drought tolerant. They're also relatively cheap for large specimens. Photo taken in my neighborhood July 21, 2011.

There's a lot around our neighborhood. However, I discovered one a couple of block from us...which is as beautiful as your larger Foxtail palm tree in your front yard.
