Scadoxus multiflorus (day eight) (Scadoxus multiflorus)

Last Friday, something finally emerged from my Scadoxus bulbs. As it turned out it wasn't leaves but a flower stem. Here it is eight days later!

Last Thursday nothing - Friday morning the bud was emerging! Eight days later, although this is not the final form, it's pretty much there! It certainly does perform once it starts!

2 Aug, 2011

There was talk of it, but I believe that it's now limited to some of its content.

That's as fast as my Amaryllis open - in fact probably faster! It's a lovely flower - that would make people sit up & take notice!!!

7 Aug, 2011

I must admit that I was surprised by the speed of it all.
