My friend and I purchased a plant at the same time in 2008. My plant has constantly struggled because bugs keep eating the tubers and setting it back. My friend's plant (in the ground) is about 10ft/3m tall with gigantic 6ft/2m leaves.

shame yours was set back delonix is there anything you can put down to stop them, i know they can get huge, elephant ears is the common name isn't it..

Yes, the common name is Elephant's ears...however, this hybrid has gotten a different common name....not sure why.

My friend's plant is even larger now...especially with all the rain we had last season.
