That's a very healthy looking plant! It's full of leaves.

It grows very big in time, though...it doesn't look like it has enough room.

My goodness Delonix1, I looked at your photo and was flabbergasted!!! Mine is fairly young; this is only the second summer outdoors. I have to bring it indoors just before winter and plant it out again next spring. Taking your photo into consideration, I'll make sure it has enough room for it.

By the way, I have two (green) Abyssinian banana and one of them has got really big and the trunk has got super fat!! I have to take it indoors and it will be a tough task to lift it and carry it to the conservatory :-(

The green form of Ensete ventricosum grows larger than the red variety.

Yes, no bananas need to come indoors during winter. I have many bananas on my plants. They should be ripening soon. I grow 7 different varieties of edible bananas.

My goodness, you can live on bananas then! What a wonderful life! It makes a lot of sense to grow edible anything and everything. I'd love to go for that direction!

I grow papayas, bananas, pineapples (which doesn't grow as large as in Hawai'i), Coffee (which I give away...my tree is extremely productive). I used to have mangoes...but my mango tree died, when it got crowded out. I have a huge dragon fruit cactus...which doesn't produce fruit because I never pollinate it (maybe next year).

I also have a huge Monstera deliciosa (Split-leaf-Philodendron or Mexican Breadfruit) which has very delicious pineapple-tasting fruit. It bloomed for the first time seven years (this year), due to the ending of the long 7 year drought. Hope I get the fruit before the ants!
