The 'other source' garden

The 'other source' garden

Hidden under the undergrowth, there is an ancient lavoir (fed by the source) and a little stream...

I had planned to do it already, J...but have run out of time...and steam! (for the moment - next year, hopefully!)

Thanks, C and P...the trouble with blank canvasses is, you can't transform them all at once! lol!...at least, I can't...
...might come back from Africa in the Spring, invigourated and inspired!! :))

There's an old stone lavoir at the far end...lots of potential for water features!!

Just had the Marie call today, the misery next door has complained endlessly about our tiny dolphin fed Pond....she's demanding the whole Pond be moved...The Marie is quite fed up with her, but had to look into it because she just wont let up...she claims it spoils her entertaining her guests...I'm surprised her guests can hear it above her sole voice....Anyway going to look into continuous water circulation without the water breaking surface...Definitely not moving the Pond...unless she's prepared to pay for it....

Good luck with your plans next year....:o)))

Aye Meadowland there is always one, just wish she didn't live next door to me....:o(((

You have my sympathies, Sue...my neighbours did the same with our pool (and they have one too just over the wall!)...I don't think she has much of a leg to stand on though...does she? Most people like the sound of a fountain...I mean it's not exactly Victoria Falls!!!

Thanks, what he's suggesting is that as it's next to the Fence, we may want to consider moving it down a metre or two...OH explained the amount of work involved, to which he agreed...but he says he has stood the other side and he can hear it...You know if we put it in the middle of the garden, you'd still hear water falling...Anyway he liked the garden, and was after my Melons...lol...This woman we've had to put a privacy screen along the fence, she constantly looks through, if she hears any work going on in our garden, she will send her OH out to scout...I feel sorry for the poor beggar; and tells my OH that she's told her OH not to talk to us ...she's tried to turn other neighbours against us, with her whinging, (without success)I'm a very private person, I don't ignore anyone, but i'm not in and out of other peoples places, I like my own place...She just wants to rule full stop...

You get people like that everywhere...does she have a problem with your nationality, by any chance?
Funnily enough, it was the wife who made all the canon balls and her poor OH who had to fire them at us, too! He looked visibly relieved when we went to have it out with both of them!!

Anyway, there are no regulations regarding little ponds in France (as far as I know!)...bodies of water less than 60cms high and less than 10sqm surface need no permissions...Perhaps you could give the Maire a couple of melons to make it go away! ;) He could just put his foot down...

Funny you say that...when she just wasn't getting anywhere with OH and her demands to move it...I was at the Post Box one morning, and I heard her at the top of her voice say why is this happening, you're not even French...I wanted to say no, but we pay our taxes here in France...but I couldn't be assed...The water is still running, we'll sort it in our own time...They all know she's not quite right in the head...I've never met such a nosey person...I feel sorry for the Mayor, cos she's just not going to go away...and with my health I don't want to lose it...or she will know all about it..The Maire knows the rules and he knows its a trivial thing, he said he's never had to deal with a complaint about a pond before..Dogs Cats..Loud Music Parties...Noisy Cars, the usual...there you go lol...

Hmm, luckily there are not too many of the locals share her views, eh? I think you're doing the right thing...sort it out in your own time...
...Nobody can make you and maybe, just maybe, the Maire will get tired of her whinging...

Might still consider that move to Mortagne sur Gironde...damn woman...

Or you could play some of that birdsong music to drown her hearing the fountain! lol!!!! :/
