I don't know what it's called, W...it's really small - probably only about 3cms wingspan and they do have little tails...would that be right?

They are, quite suddenly all over the garden! :))))

i'm not sure K, but lovely, your lucky all i've had here is large whites and a few common blues..

Haha! It certainly has been this year, Scottish. I've had a couple of quite nasty snakes as well...but 'shot' them with the hose instead of the camera! lol!

There has been an absence of butterflies here too, W, aside from these. Normally we see a few swallowtails...none so far...

At my old house there were always lots of swifts and the young ones would all roost on a derelict balcony...but my old neighbours were telling me that either there are none, or they've all left very early...

There haven't been many mosquitoes either...perhaps that would explain the swifts...
