Out of my two Triphylla Fuchsias, Thalia has done the best. Both have been slow to get going properly though........

Thank you Wagger and Daisydee!

thats a lovely plant ~ great shape and so many blooms!!

Should have been like this for a couple of months though Sticki!
31 Aug, 2011
how long will it last now?
31 Aug, 2011
It should bloom up until the cold weather Sticki..........
31 Aug, 2011
its a lovely plant, shame our wretched weather has deprived you of 2 months of this tho.
31 Aug, 2011
It has been flowering all summer - just not properly like this!
31 Aug, 2011
lots of cuttings to give more options next year??
31 Aug, 2011
Nah............£1.25 again from the local nursery! Not worth the effort of caring for them at that money.

50p up here!!!
the only difference is the fuchsias i have kept through the winter are much bigger.
31 Aug, 2011
To be honest, I've never been happy with the ones (triphylla) that I have overwintered.

i cant get a nice photo of mine but if you saw them you would know why ~ they are not a good shape ~ lovely flowers but the branches/stems go every which way!! i can certainly see your point ~ i dont need to cry over any that die!!
31 Aug, 2011
I know that feeling Sticki!
That's the other nice thing about the Triphylla Fuchsias - they shape themselves.......
31 Aug, 2011
oh hadnt realised that ~ big bonus!!
just looking at my thalia today ~ nothing like as many flowers as yours!!
31 Aug, 2011
You probably don't talk to it nicely enough!
31 Aug, 2011
how did you know that!!!
perhaps they are sensitive little plants and they dont like what i say to the slugs???
31 Aug, 2011
Get some toads Sticki - never see slugs around here!
31 Aug, 2011
i was going to be very rude then but thought i had better not.
i dont have any toads or frogs here ~ too dry???
31 Aug, 2011
Pond next year then!!
31 Aug, 2011
i will have to make one of those hypertuffa things?? i have 2 small dishes/bird baths at ground level currently.
i would love a pond.

A couple of piles of logs which are never disturbed would be a good idea too. In a shady spot where they can get some rain/hosing.
