I got this in the Spring and this is the heaviest it has bloomed so far. The flowers open at night and only last a day but it produces new flowers every month.

That's beautiful ~ I was going to ask the same question Crissue! Looks as if it is.

Yes, definitely scented! It smells just like a perfume. It's fragrance is much different than my Jasmine vine but both are nice.

I have been very happy with it, it was sent for me in a plant trade from a woman in Maryland (she gave me some very nice plants!). Jasminum polyanthum is also a nice one (as a house plant, I can't grow it outdoors here). The flowers have a very nice fragrance and blooms a couple times a year. It forms flower buds after a couple weeks in 40-60F temperatures.

Ah yes, i recognise Jasminum polyanthum ~ have had a couple of those, usually in the unheated porch and have tried them outside after that but I dont think they survived the winter!!

I have no idea how tender they are outside, how cold do winters get there?

the last 2 years have been bad ~ often below -10 in december, january and febuary with ice and snow!!

Is that -10 celsius? That is pretty cold either way and it always seems worse with snow and ice! We usually see temps as low as -15 and occasionally -20F. I wish it wouldn't get so cold here, I lost a Chinese redbud last year and had it in the most protected spot I could find. It was still flattened by the cold and I even wrapped it in burlap.

What else?
See who else is growing Jasminum sambac (Arabian Jasmine).
See who else has plants in genus Jasminum.
This photo is of "Jasminum sambac 'Maid of Orleans'" in Rkwright's garden
