Early Spring in N.E. Downunder - Looking over the bush in the 'dry' season

Beautiful!

You're actually getting a dry season this year?

Hi Andy, yes it seems like things are back to normal. After that wet, wet, wet year last year, the cycle seems to be to the usual long dry and short wet season.

We haven't had any rain at all now for just over four months, so the landscape around here right now is looking brown and parched.

All the trees and shrubs damaged by the cyclone earlier this year are recovering very, very slowly without rainfall. I think it's going to take some time for them to really look good.

Glad to here things are back to normal! The weather is somewhat back to normal here, too. Although, right now I feel like I'm in an oven broiling, it's so HOT and HUMID! lol! :>)

Lovely view, Bernieh! Would that we had something lovely to look at rather than the backs of the houses on the other side of the street! Even then I think we are fortunate as one day I went up to the 6th floor & looked out of the stairway windows & the view was over the roofs of the houses in front which seemed to me to be like the waves rolling in off the sea! I think I prefer our view after all! LOL!

Hi Balcony, I love the comparison you made between the roofs and the waves. I think we can find beauty almost anywhere if we look hard enough. I have to say though, I know I will find it hard to settle back into inner city suburban life after living out here. The quiet and the peacefulness is just wonderful. There's also the wildlife and the view of the bushland and the ranges.

Makes me want to join you! (if it weren't for the grandkids!)

Bring them over too, Balcony! Lol!

Their mum won't even let us take them out of the house - let alone Downunder!

OK then, I can see you'd have a fight on your hands!

But we're off to Spain for a few days. :-)) (A busman's holiday!)

If you don't have this expression "Downunder" then perhaps this definition will help you understand what I'm alluding to:
