I really like the Impatiens!

Yes, they're all New Guinea Impatiens. There's the old fashioned red out the front of the Tabernaemontana and then, in front of and underneath the Cycad, there are some of the newer varieties with the variegated flowers. They all just love this corner of the garden.

what lovely (old?) red bricks! Very pretty area. I love container gardening, but of course takes lots of time watering in the hot months.

Dwyllis, you're absolutely right about the bricks. They are quite old ... probably around 50 years or so and all re-cycled from an old building. Container gardening is my only choice these days. The old established garden beds are completely compacted now after years of drought and some torrential wet seasons, and they are impossible to dig. I do have to make all the containers as water-wise as possible though so I don't need to water them every day, except in the height of our horrible summers.
