I love the courtyard look you have achieved here.

Very nice. I have added you as a Favourite, so shouldn't have to go searching for blogs or pics you put up. I really like the two columns you have in the foreground. Love pieces like that in the garden. I have a very heavy square ornate column which I bought over from England with me years ago, & haven't really used at all. But the other day, I came across a large concrete urn painted a vivid French Provincial Blue, so it has been put onto the column now, & I intended to plant it with a trailing Verbena 'Sissinghurst' which has stunning vivid pink flowers. I found the urn in an op shop (think you call them goodwill shops in the States & Charity shops in the UK), & it was priced at just NZ$10 (around US$7), so I couldn't believe my luck.

thank you...it's hard to find lovely, old stone pieces here in the desert and when you can, they're very expensive; but i found two of these old columns at a yardsale.....my lucky day!

This looks so lush Ng. What do you feed your plants? What ever it is - it's working a treat. Also, that beautiful plant with the extreme oak like leaves - what is it, coz I have to have it! :) And, while I'm at it - what's the one surrounding the tree in the distance? All this in Arizona of all places! Incredible. Clearly true dedication on your part. Thanks, Nicky.

starting far left to right: honeysuckle; catmint in pot on pillar; large leaf plant is (i think) an elephant leaf philodendron (but definitely a philodendron); tall plant is a mock cherry; and in back around tree are pink ruellia.........these are really prolific. i have more than twenty all from the one original plant and have to pull them up to keep them from taking over. they get small seed pods which actually pop and spray the seeds. i've been pelted while watering. they bloom profusely in warm weather; i collect 100-200 blossoms a day to feed the tortoises who love them. blossoms only last about a day in extreme heat. i pretty much use miracle gro for everything. thanks for the kudos; this is no big deal in a lot of the u.s., but still unusual here...
